FAQ

Is this the same video content that we learned in your Core Skills Course?

Nope! It is completely brand new content with new never before seen interviews with Dr. David Burns.

Who is this course meant for?

It is meant for anyone who is Level 1 or 2 TEAM-CBT Certified and would like to reach Level 3 Certification or for any TEAM-CBT therapist who would like the chance to review and practice their TEAM-CBT skills in a structured and methodical fashion!

What fees does this course include / what am I saving by taking this course?

The course includes Level 2 and Level 3 certification fees. You will not have to pay for either level of certification. This also includes the cost of the Level 3 certification exam. If you do not pass the Level 3 Certification Exam, you will have to pay the fee to re-take the exam. The course also includes a free text book Deliberate Practice of TEAM-CBT.

Do I have to choose a weekly practice group? How does that work?

Yes! We ask you to enroll in one of the two one-hour practice groups after you register for the course. The practice groups meet on Tuesdays at 2pm PT or Fridays at 8am PT. If you occasionally need to meet at the other group time, we permit you to attend the alternative group time, as long as you let the instructors know ahead of time.

Who is leading the practice groups?

Maor Katz, MD is leading one of the Deliberate Practice groups and Mike Christensen, MACP is leading the other one. Maor and Mike recently co-authored the book: Deliberate Practice of TEAM-CBT where they have outlined the basics of TEAM-CBT and created practice exercises and criteria so that you can learn and master the steps of TEAM-CBT. The practice groups involve reviewing the specific skill, practicing for 30 minutes with a partner, and Q and A about the skills practiced.

The one-hour practice groups meet for 25 weeks - so what if I have to miss a practice group meeting? Can I watch the recording? Can I still get CE credit?

If you have to miss your designated practice group, you may attend the other practice group the same week instead. If you cannot attend either practice group on a given week, we are able to allow a maximum of two makeup sessions over the course of the 25 weeks of the course. If you complete all sessions and/or up to two makeup sessions you can still get CE credit for the 25 weeks.There will not be an option to watch the recording of the practice groups, since the goal is to practice!

What constitutes a makeup session (as referred to above)?

While you can request to join the alternative practice group meeting as needed, there may be a week or two when you simply cannot attend either practice group time. You are allowed up to 2 makeup sessions. In order to complete a makeup session we will pair you with another member of your practice group and you will meet for 1 hour and work your way through the practice exercises together and send in a summary of your practice to the instructor. We can allow up to 2 makeups per person and still give you full CE credit.

Will Feeling Good Institute offer this course again?

Yes! Our goal is to provide this course at least twice per year. We will begin another cohort of this course in the late spring or early fall depending on interest.

What is the weekly time commitment to take this course?

You can expect that each week you will spend between zero and 40 minutes watching the asynchronous content, and exactly one hour in your practice group, so your weekly time commitment to take this course will vary from about 1-2 hours per week, including the live practice group. The last week of the course the practice group will last for 2 hours and will be a demonstration of the Level 3 Certification Exam with feedback. There is no other required homework beyond watching the didactic training videos. At the end of the course you can also take the post-test for the asynchronous portion of the course to get the 15 asynchronous CE credits. You are welcome to spend more time practicing with partners or reviewing the videos to get ready for the Level 3 Exam.

How does the CE credit work for this course?

This is a hybrid course consisting of asynchronous training (15 hours of videos divided over the 25 weeks of the course) plus 25 hours of live online practice groups.  In order to obtain the 15 asynchronous CEs, you must watch the videos and pass the post-test (75% is a passing grade). In order to obtain the 26 CEs for the live portion of the course you must be present at 100% of the practice groups (26 hours over the course of 25 weeks) OR make up a maximum of 2 of those classes. Partial credit cannot be granted for the live CEs.

Remind me why I should take this course?

Where shall we begin??
