About My Practice

I provide psychotherapy to adults and seniors experiencing anxiety, stress, grief, difficulty adjusting to life’s changes, and interpersonal conflict. I also work with individuals who already function very well but would like to have an unbiased person to talk to, or want to work on further improving their functioning in pursuit of their goals of high achievement and personal growth. Additionally, as a minority in several aspects of my identity, I welcome diversity in my clientele, including LGBTQ+ as well as linguistic and ethnic diversity. I can help you address issues relevant to members of minority communities, or I can help you work through other aspects of your life, while making sure that you are in a safe(r) social environment.

My theoretical orientation is best described as integrative. I put a special emphasis on TEAM-CBT approach, but use it with a person-centered lens and an awareness of existential concerns. I believe that a successful experience in therapy includes frequent assessment of progress, development of a meaningful relationship through empathy and mutual feedback, evaluation of reasons to change and to remain the same, and diligent implementation of specific therapeutic methods appropriate to the situation and the client.

Prior to moving to Ottawa, I received my Master’s Degree in Cognitive Psychology from McGill University in Montreal, QC. I had also completed education in the United States and Russia. This background allows me to work in three languages: English, French, and Russian. On top of that, I have recently completed all the clinical training within Ph.D. program in Clinical Psychology in the University of Ottawa. I am currently putting finishing touches on my doctoral dissertation and awaiting my graduation as a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology. While going through the process of becoming a licensed psychologist myself, I am supervised by Dr. Jacob Kaiserman who is a registered psychologist with the College of Psychologists of Ontario.
