About My Practice

I am the co-founder of the Good Life Center for Mental Health, a center that focuses on evidence based methods to assist clients towards meeting their therapeutic goals,  As a licensed clinical social worker,  I strongly believe that everyone deserves to have a self- fulfilling life filled with pride, joy and meaningful connections. I rely on therapeutic strategies to help clients manage the internal dialogue preventing them to experiencing feelings of competence, self worth and connection. I viewed my clients as experts on themselves and their active participation throughout the therapeutic process is vital for change to take place. I encourage my clients to envision their every day life as a  positive path where thoughts can lead the way towards attaining personal goals. I have over 25 years of experience working in mental health and have assist clients struggling with  Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, anxiety, depression and relationship difficulties.

In addition to TEAM CBT certifications, I am also certified in CBT I (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia) and EMDR (Levels I and II).  I also have received specialized training in ERP (Exposure and Response Prevention) for the treatment of OCD through the International OCD Foundation – Behavior Therapy Training Institute (BTTI) and the Cognitive Behavioral Institute for Education. In addition, I am trained in I – CBT (Inference Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) for the treatment of OCD, and I am an active member of the I – CBT therapists’ community. I – CBT is a promising evidenced base approach for the treatment of OCD which is a valid option for OCD sufferers who have difficulties engaging in ERP treatment or have not experienced a robust response to traditional ERP.

I am fully bilingual and can provide services in Spanish.  Having lived in other countries and immigrated to the United States as a young adult, I recognize the impact of multicultural issues and acculturation in mental health functioning.
