In this new workshop you will learn to identify and modify the Self-Defeating Beliefs that can make you and your patients more vulnerable to painful mood swings and troubled relationships, including:

- The Achievement Addiction
- Superman / Superwoman
- The Love Addiction
- The Approval Addiction
- The Fear of Being Alone
- Conflict and Anger Phobias
David and Jill, “The Dynamic Duo” will teach you powerful, practical techniques to pinpoint your own and your patients’ Self-Defeating Beliefs, such as the Individual Downward Arrow, as well as techniques to modify those beliefs, including the Enhanced CoBA, the Semantic Technique, the Feared Fantasy, the Experimental Technique, the Pleasure Predicting Form, and many more techniques. You will also have the chance to participate in fun experiential exercises in small groups with trained assistants to boost your learning and mastery.
Learning objectives: After attending this course, you will be able to:
1) Explain the differences between Self-Defeating Beliefs (SDBs) and cognitive distortions. 2) Define the Achievement Addiction. 3) Use the Cost-Benefit Analysis to evaluate a SDB. 4) Design an experiment to challenge a SDB. 5) Explain the purpose of the Feared Fantasy Technique. 6) Use the Semantic Technique to revise a Self-Defeating Belief. 7) Explain the use of the pleasure predicting form to address the love addiction.
